# Translation Ayah
1 Nay! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. لَا أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ
2 And nay! I swear by An-Nafs Al-Lawwamah. وَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالنَّفْسِ اللَّوَّامَةِ
3 Does man think that We shall not assemble his bones أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنسَانُ أَلَّن نَجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُ
4 Yes, We are able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. بَلَى قَادِرِينَ عَلَى أَن نُّسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُ
5 Nay! Man desires to break out ahead of himself. بَلْ يُرِيدُ الْإِنسَانُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُ
6 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection" يَسْأَلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ
7 So, when Bariqa the sight. فَإِذَا بَرِقَ الْبَصَرُ
8 And the moon will be eclipsed. وَخَسَفَ الْقَمَرُ
9 And the sun and moon will be joined together. وَجُمِعَ الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ
10 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee" يَقُولُ الْإِنسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ الْمَفَرُّ
11 No! There is no refuge! كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ
12 Unto your Lord will be the place of rest that Day. إِلَى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمُسْتَقَرُّ
13 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward, and what he left behind. يُنَبَّأُ الْإِنسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
14 Nay! Man will be well informed about himself, بَلِ الْإِنسَانُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ بَصِيرَةٌ
15 Though he may put forth his excuses. وَلَوْ أَلْقَى مَعَاذِيرَهُ
16 Move not your tongue concerning to make haste therewith. لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ
17 It is for Us to collect it and that it be recited. إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ
18 And when We have recited it to you, then follow its recitation. فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَاهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْآنَهُ
19 Then it is for Us to make it clear. ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُ
20 But no! Rather you love the present life of this world, كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ الْعَاجِلَةَ
21 And neglect the Hereafter. وَتَذَرُونَ الْآخِرَةَ
22 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah. وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ
23 Looking at their Lord. إِلَى رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ
24 And some faces that Day will be Basirah, وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَاسِرَةٌ
25 Thinking that some calamity is about to fall on them. تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ
26 Nay, when it rea- ches to the collarbones. كَلَّا إِذَا بَلَغَتْ التَّرَاقِيَ
27 And it will be said: "Who can cure him" وَقِيلَ مَنْ رَاقٍ
28 And he will think that it was the parting; وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ الْفِرَاقُ
29 And one shank will be joined with another shank. وَالْتَفَّتِ السَّاقُ بِالسَّاقِ
30 The drive will be on that Day to your Lord! إِلَى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمَسَاقُ
31 So, he neither believed nor prayed! فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّى
32 But on the contrary, he denied and turned away! وَلَكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّى
33 Then he walked in conceit to his family admiring himself! ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ يَتَمَطَّى
34 Woe to you! And then woe to you! أَوْلَى لَكَ فَأَوْلَى
35 Again, woe to you! And then woe to you! ثُمَّ أَوْلَى لَكَ فَأَوْلَى
36 Does man think that he will be left neglected أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنسَانُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى
37 Was he not a Nutfah of semen emitted أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِيٍّ يُمْنَى
38 Then he became an `Alaqah; then shaped and fashioned in due proportion. ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّى
39 And made of him two sexes, male and female. فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ الزَّوْجَيْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَى
40 Is it not so then, that He would be able to give life to the dead أَلَيْسَ ذَلِكَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَى أَن يُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَى
