# Translation Ayah
1 He frowned and turned away. عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّى
2 Because there came to him the blind man. أَن جَاءهُ الْأَعْمَى
3 And how can you know that he might become pure وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُ يَزَّكَّى
4 Or he might receive admonition, and the admonition might profit him أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ الذِّكْرَى
5 As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, أَمَّا مَنِ اسْتَغْنَى
6 To him you attend; فَأَنتَ لَهُ تَصَدَّى
7 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure وَمَا عَلَيْكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّى
8 But as for him who came to you running, وَأَمَّا مَن جَاءكَ يَسْعَى
9 And is afraid. وَهُوَ يَخْشَى
10 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another. فَأَنتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّى
11 Nay; indeed it is an admonition. كَلَّا إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌ
12 So, whoever wills, let him pay attention to Him (it). فَمَن شَاء ذَكَرَهُ
13 In Records held in honor, فِي صُحُفٍ مُّكَرَّمَةٍ
14 Exalted, purified. مَّرْفُوعَةٍ مُّطَهَّرَةٍ
15 In the hands of ambassadors (Safarah), بِأَيْدِي سَفَرَةٍ
16 Honorable and obedient. كِرَامٍ بَرَرَةٍ
17 Qutila mankind! How ungrateful he is! قُتِلَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا أَكْفَرَهُ
18 From what thing did He create him مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ
19 From a Nutfah He created him and then set him in due proportion. مِن نُّطْفَةٍ خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُ
20 Then He made the path easy for him. ثُمَّ السَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُ
21 Then He causes him to die and puts him in his grave. ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُ فَأَقْبَرَهُ
22 Then when it is His will, He will resurrect him. ثُمَّ إِذَا شَاء أَنشَرَهُ
23 Nay, but has not done what He commanded him. كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَا أَمَرَهُ
24 Then let man look at his food: فَلْيَنظُرِ الْإِنسَانُ إِلَى طَعَامِهِ
25 We pour forth water in abundance. أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا الْمَاء صَبًّا
26 And We split the earth in clefts. ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا الْأَرْضَ شَقًّا
27 And We cause therein Habb to grow, فَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا حَبًّا
28 And grapes and Qadb, وَعِنَبًا وَقَضْبًا
29 And olives and date palms, وَزَيْتُونًا وَنَخْلًا
30 And Ghulb Hada'iq, وَحَدَائِقَ غُلْبًا
31 And fruits (Fakihah) and herbage (Abb). وَفَاكِهَةً وَأَبًّا
32 A provision and benefit for you and your cattle. مَّتَاعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ
33 Then when there comes As-Sakhkhah فَإِذَا جَاءتِ الصَّاخَّةُ
34 That Day shall a man flee from his brother. يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ
35 And from his mother and his father. وَأُمِّهِ وَأَبِيهِ
36 And from his wife and his children. وَصَاحِبَتِهِ وَبَنِيهِ
37 Every man that Day will have enough to make him careless of others. لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَأْنٌ يُغْنِيهِ
38 Some faces that Day will be bright, وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُّسْفِرَةٌ
39 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. ضَاحِكَةٌ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌ
40 And other faces that Day will be dust-stained. وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌ
41 Darkness will cover them. تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ
42 Such will be the disbelieving, the wicked evil doers. أُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْكَفَرَةُ الْفَجَرَةُ
